WoundSweep™

WoundSweep is intended to help clinicians determine the phase of healing for chronic venous leg ulcers.

Phases of Wound Healing

The WoundSweep kit utilizes a combination of advanced Histologics minimally invasive sample collection devices and a proprietary protein biomarker panel to objectively assess the precise molecular stage of a wound.

Chronic wounds are frequently trapped in a dysregulated inflammatory state characterized by elevated proteases (such as MMPs) and pro-inflammatory cytokines. Traditional visual assessment is often insufficient to identify this stalled state. By analyzing the unique protein signature of the wound exudate, WoundSweep enables practitioners to move beyond trial-and-error medicine. Identifying the specific biochemical barriers to healing allows for targeted interventions—such as protease modulation or advanced biologics—ensuring the right therapy is applied at the right time to restart the healing cascade.1,2
